for Parent Group Leaders
The Incredible
Years Advanced Parenting Programme is a follow-on to the Basic Parenting Programme
for parents of children who have clinical levels of conduct problems, are
experiencing relationship difficulties with other adults and/or are in multiply
stressed circumstances.
The advanced programme covers communication and interpersonal skills including
problem solving with adults and children, anger management and how to give
and get support.
This
one-day course will introduce participants to the content of the seven session
Advanced Parenting Programme. The course is for people who have completed
the basic group leader training and have experience of co-leading at least
one Basic Parenting Course.
Cost
of the day is £150 to include lunch and course materials.
Judy
Hutchings is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the North West Wales CAMHS
service and a mentor for the Incredible Years Parenting Programme. She also
works at the University where she undertakes research and teaching in the
area of parenting. Her interest and experience in this field has been developed
over the last 25 years.
She has been running the Incredible Years Programmes for several years in
North West Wales and routinely uses the advanced programme in her work with
parents of children referred to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
for behavioural and related difficulties.
